Vince McMahon is set to make his second stab at starting a professional football league.
The WWE impresario will make a “major sports announcement” at 3 p.m. ET, amid reports that his Alpha Entertainment will launch a new league. SEC paperwork suggests McMahon is using $100M for Alpha to make investments “including professional football.”
He’s filed trademarks for the name “XFL” — the name of the upstart league he co-founded with NBC that lasted just one season in 2001.
